Birdlife of the Akrotiri Peninsula

This exhibit presents many remarkable species of bird fauna of the Akrotiri peninsula. The Akrotiri peninsula area hosts 358 different species of birds, of which:

46 species live permanently in the area, 10 live occasionally and 91 species are considered as endangered and/or rare species of the island.

Some examples of the unique bird life of the Akrotiri peninsula include the Flamingos, Eleonora’s Falcon, Mallards, Grey herons, Cattle egret etc.
