The Mediterranean Sea is strongly valuable for our planet, because many plants and animals cannot live elsewhere. One tenth of the 550 fish species living in it are purely Mediterranean.
The Mediterranean is a “closed” sea, that’s why is so sensitive to pollution. Apart from pollution it is also threatened from many invasive species. Thus, it needs to be protected.
