Biodiversity: The diversity of life – Aims of the program

The aims of the Environmental Education Program “Biodiversity: The diversity of life are:

Students:

  1. To learn and to get familiarized with the concept of the biodiversity, giving emphasis on the 3 levels of biodiversity: genetic diversity, diversity of species and diversity of landscapes.
  2. To realize the great value and importance of biodiversity both for humans as well as for the other living organisms – plants and animals, so as to develop positive values and attitudes towards biodiversity.
  3. To realize and to investigate the threats and the dangers that lead to the reduction of biodiversity and to the extinction of species.
  4. To realize the ways through which people could encounter and mitigate the threats and the dangers leading to reduction of biodiversity.
