Fauna of the Akrotiri Peninsula – Aims of the program

The aims of the Environmental Education Program “Fauna of the Akrotiri Peninsula” are:

Students:

  1. To learn and to get familiarized with the species encountered at the Akrotiri Peninsula
  2. To understand the different animal groups
  3. To understand the systemic features through which we characterize, we name and classify the living organisms
  4. To detect and identify animals in different ecosystems.
  5. To explore differentiations into the fauna depending on the biotic or abiotic factors that affects it (microhabitats).
  6. To develop the ability of critical thinking through the exploration of the anthropogenic pressures and threats.
  7. To realize of the ecological importance of animals and to develop positive attitudes and values.
