Regarding the topic:<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/strong>
\n<\/span><\/strong>The fauna and flora of Cyprus compose a beautiful natural mosaic in our country and are a source of inspiration and creation. The term fauna refers to all animal organisms of a particular region including vertebrates (fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals) and invertebrate animals (worms, insects, snails etc.) and excludes livestock, domestic animals, pets and foreign Species of fauna. Native flora refers to all plants that grow (on their own) and grow in an area (usually natural) without any human intervention excluding ornamental and cultivated plants of gardens and parks. Invasive flora species (eg acacia) are also excluded. In the framework of this photographic competition, we are seeking for representative photos of the fauna and wild flora of Cyprus.<\/span><\/p>\n

Awarded Photographs of the Pancyprian Photographic Competition \u2018Fauna and Indigenous Flora of Cyprus\u2019 <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

On Tuesday, January 17, 2017, evaluation of the photographs submitted to the great photographic contest entitled “Fauna and Indigenous Flora of Cyprus” took place.<\/span><\/p>\n

The competition was organized with the collaboration of the Cyprus Centre for Environmental Research and Education (CYCERE) with the Photographic Society of Cyprus, Limassol Branch, two organizations collaborating for the second year in an effort to record and highlight the beautiful natural environment of our island.<\/span><\/p>\n

Judges were: mr. Rozinos Demetriades (photography artist with many years of experience on the topic) Kristis Michaelides AFIAP (Teacher in Technical Education and photography artist also with many years of experience on the topic), Gregoris Panayiotou EFIAP, PSA 3*, RISF-2, FISF (analyst \u2013 programmer and photography artist). On behalf of CYCERE the judges were Dr. Andreas Hadjihambis (Scientific Director of the Cyprus Centre for Environmental Research and Education – CYCERE) and Dr. Demetra Hadjihambi (Scientific Associate of the Cyprus Centre for Environmental Research and Education \u2013 CYCERE)<\/span><\/p>\n

On behalf of the Photographic Society of Cyprus, Limassol Branch as invigilator Argyro Christodoulou AFIAP was present.<\/span><\/p>\n

At this competition 32 photographers submitted 182 photographs.<\/span><\/p>\n
