The Orthodox Church contributing to the protection and preservation of the natural environment has declared the 1<sup>st<\/sup> of September of each year as the Panorthodox Day for the Protection of the Environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Within this context the Holy Bishopry of Limassol ha founded the Cyprus Centre for Environmental Research and Education that has been providing specialised free of charge programmes of environmental education, research and information. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The Cyprus Centre for Environmental Research and Education within these 10 years of functioning and offering has achieved to successfully train thousands of Primary and Secondary educational level students and students of Higher Education from all over Cyprus. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The fact that CYCERE within these 10 years has been awarded with the Pancyprian Award for Environmental Education, the Cyprus Radiotelevision Authority award and the Panhelenic award for Educational Websites, is quite impressive.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">My congratulations for the work performed by the Cyprus Centre for Environmental Research and Education are sincere and hearty. Warm congratulations also awarded to the Honorary Chairman of CYCERE, Bishop of Limassol Fr. Athanasios for blessing and supporting this work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">I was given the chance to witness myself the quality of the work produced by CYCERE. I also came across the natural environment of great excellence in which the Centre lies and the multidimensional contribution of CYCERE\u2019s officials.
