Description<\/strong>
\n<\/strong>\u0391 common perennial plant with woody rhizome and wide leaves which are divided into three lobes. Flowers coloured white, pink, purple, red or intermediate of the above.<\/span><\/p>\n

Flowering: January – April.<\/span><\/p>\n

Habitat
\n<\/strong>It is located on hillsides, in uncultivated fields, in forests and along roads. In the summer months, the aboveground part of the plant is dried while the rhizome remains alive and gives new plant the year after.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Distribution – Toxicity
\n<\/strong>All parts of the plant are toxic, but herbivores avoid it because of its bitter taste. Its consumption causes gastroenteritis, diarrhoea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In severe cases, it can affect vital organs, such as kidneys and lungs, or it may lead to death.
\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It is a plant with large distribution because it is also grown as ornamental. In its wild form, it covers large areas in Israel, Palestine and Jordan.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
