The 7th Pan Cyprian celebration for the World Wetlands Day held on 30 January 2011, at the premises of the Cyprus Centre for Environmental Research and Education, in the farm of St. Nikolaos, at Akroti, a place of high ecological value and acquaintance for its important wetlands, giving thus the opportunity to the visitors to learn and to be informed about the wetlands of the region as well as about their importance<\/span><\/p>\n

In the event that was marked with great success participated more than 150 people. The event included visit in the Wetland of the Bishop\u2019s Lake, \u00a0presentations on wetlands and their importance as well as Messages from the Secretariat of the Ramsar Convention, the Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment, the Minister of Education and Culture, the Bishop of Holy Church of Limassol, the President of the Federation of\u00a0 Cyprus Environmental Organizations, the president of Birdlife Cyprus Association as well as messages from Mr. Christos Pourgourids and Mr. Rikkos Erotokritou (Members of the Parliament) and Mrs. Ioanna Panayiotou, General Secretary of the Cyprus Green Party.<\/span><\/p>\n
