The 3rd Cyprus Celebration of the World Wetlands Day was held on February 7, 2007 at the Cultural Foundation of the Bank of Cyprus.<\/span><\/p>\n

The program included a greeting from the Honorary President of the Cyprus Centre for Environmental Research and Education \u2013 Bishop of Limassol Mr. Athanasios, an introductory speech about the Cyprus Centre for Environmental Research and Education by Dr. Andreas Chatzichambis, a greeting from Dr. Aravella Zaccaria \u2013 representative of the Minister of Education and Culture Mr. Pefkios Georgiades, a greeting from the honourable minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment \u2013 Mr. Antonis Antoniou, a greeting from the President of the Cyprus Federation of Environmental and Ecological Organisations – Mr. Pantelis Metaxas, \u00a0a presentation of the CYCERE recent publication ” The butterflies of Cyprus are revealed\u201d from the inspector of the higher education \u2013 Mr. Constantinos Fereos, a Presentation about \u00abThe flora of the wetlands at the Akrotiri Peninsula\u00bb by the Manager of the Department of Forests – Mr. Charalambos Christodoulou and finally a Presentation about \u00abThe fauna of the wetlands in Cyprus\u00bb by the Fund Hunting Manager \u2013 Mr. Nikos Casinis as well as the projection of an Ecological Documentary.<\/span><\/p>\n
