The 5th Cyprus Celebration of the World Day of Wetlands held on 1 February 2009, at the premises of the Cyprus Centre for Environmental Research and Education, in the farm of St. Nikolaos, at Akrotiri.<\/span><\/p>\n

The program included a greeting from the President of the Cyprus Centre for Environmental Research and Education Chorepiskopo of Amathus \u2013 Mr. Nicholas, a greeting from the representative of the Minister of Education and Culture, a greeting from the member of the parliament Mr. George Perdikis \u2013 representative of the Cyprus Green Party, a greeting from the member of the Environmental Committee of Parliament \u00a0Dr. Eleni Theocharous \u2013 representative \u00a0of Democratic Rally, a greetings from the Cyprus President of the Federation of Environmental and Ecological Organisations of Cyprus \u2013 Mr. Christos Theodorou, a speech about the wetlands by Dr. Andreas Chatzichambis as well as presentations \u00a0of thw high school students of Lanition B\u2019 Lyceum about for endangered plants of the Akrotiri peninsula.<\/span><\/p>\n
