Through the environmental education material \u00abThe Future House is built on Past uses: plants in Cyprus tradition\u00bb<\/strong> students will research on topics associated to the traditional uses of plants in culinary, pharmacy, basketry, weaving, dyeing and furthermore, they will study the relationship of plants and environment, culture and civilizations. Additionally, students will search for the causes and consequences of environmental degradation in modern living.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Based on evidence collected, they are asked to equip a house with objects securing sustainable living, more healthy safer and environmental friendly. \u00a0Each activity allows the active involvement of students in the educational procedure and promotes collaboration amongst them.<\/span><\/p>\n

This environmental education material aims at contributing in preparing students for real life by providing knowledge, cultivating their skills, developing positions, values and attitudes as for the students to be established as active citizens, capable in managing environmental issues and to contribute to the development of a sustainable community.<\/span><\/p>\n
