Nikos Kouyialis and many public and private agencies, educational institutes and services of the country associated to environmental research were invited as to present their projects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The Conference aims were:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The mapping of the research activities \/ responsibilities of the different agencies and departments of public and private sector, and<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The recording of the main research results that present \/ are associated to the environmental situation in Cyprus today.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The exploring of the current and future employment opportunities for young Environmental Scientists in Cyprus.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">In particular the Conference was split in\u00a0<strong>4 consecutive thematic sessions<\/strong>:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Biodiversity and Nature Conservation<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Chemistry, mechanics and technology of the environment<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Marine Environment and Climate Change<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Environmental Health<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Furthermore, during the conference a number of projects listed within the 4 pre-mentioned sessions were presented.
