It is with great pleasure I received CYCERE’s Environmental Education Programmes Guide and came to a realisation about the excellent work performed by the Centre. Both the Educational programmes and the educational exhibition material for Environmental Education, as well as the support of students in field work, are sure to make a significant contribution to the awareness of young Cypriots on the crucial environmental issues faced in the island and the world in general. It appears that the content and the way it is transmitted have received great attention and are of a high standard both pedagogically and scientifically.
I hope there will be a corresponding response from the Cypriot society, the educational institutions and, above all, students.
For my part, I am at your disposal to provide support, advice or any other possible help, as other colleagues from the Department of Biological Sciences of the University of Cyprus will also do. It will be pleasure for us to work together in the future by joining forces to make people understand the need to preserve biodiversity and for a way of living that does not destroy and waste the natural wealth of the planet.
My deepest congratulations once again.
