1st Cyprus Celebration of the International Day of the Protection of Wetlands, 2005

The 1st official celebration of the World Wetlands Day was held on January 30th, 2005 at the premises of the CYCERE, at the farm of St. Nicholas and the Holy Monastery of St. Nicholas, in the Akrotiri Peninsula.

The program included a greeting from the Honorary President of the Cyprus Centre for Environmental Research and Education – Bishop of Limassol Mr. Athanasios, an introductory speech about the Cyprus Centre for Environmental Research and Education by Dr. Andreas Hadjihambis, a tour in the area of the Cyprus Centre for Environmental Research and Education as well as a symbolic tree planting. In the event, that was characterised by great success, participated over 250 of our fellow citizens.
