The 4th Cyprus Celebration of the World Day of Wetlands held on 2 February 2008, at the premises of the Cyprus Centre for Environmental Research and Education, in the farm of St. Nikolaos, at Akrotiri.

he program included a greeting from the President of the Cyprus Centre for Environmental Research and Education Chorepiskopos of Amathus – Mr. Nicolaos, a speech about the actions of CYCERE by Dr Andreas Hadjihambis, a greeting from the honourable Minister of Education –Mr. Costas Kadis, a greeting from Dr. Aravella Zaccaria – representative of the Minister of Education and Culture Mr. Akis Kleanthous who announced the decision of the Ministry of Education to integrate the CYCERE into the network of the Environmental Education Centres, a greeting from the Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment, a greeting by the member of the parliament Mr. George Perdikis – representative of the Cyprus Green Party, a greeting from the President of the Cyprus Federation of Environmental and Ecological Organisations – Mr. Pantelis Metaxa as well as a speech about the wetlands from the Environmental Commissioner of Cyprus – Mr. Charalambos Theopemptou.
